FastBraces® Technology for Your Phoenix Orthodontics
Looking for Phoenix orthodontics can be challenging. The biggest question for a child who may need braces in Phoenix would probably be “how quickly can I get them off?” While there are no miracle shortcuts in straightening teeth, Fastbraces® Technology is different by design. It typically allows for a treatment time of one year instead of the standard two years.
Fastbraces® are known for being fast, safe, easy, and affordable. Studies has shown them to produce dramatic results in about half the time, at about half the cost of braces from an orthodontist. In fact, some patients even see results in as little as 3 months!
FastBraces® vs Traditional Braces
Traditional braces are generally square in shape and are only designed to move the crown of the tooth in the first year. Once the crowns are straightened, then the root of the tooth is moved in the second year. In most cases, this requires a minimum of two years treatment time.
Fastbraces® Technology, on the other hand, features patented triangular brackets that gently move the crown and the root at the same time. Best of all, there is no additional risk or discomfort for the patient. In fact, most patients find them to be more comfortable than traditional braces.
What FRICTION Has to Do With Phoenix Orthodontics
University research has shown that Fastbraces® Technology has a “lower sensitivity” than traditional braces. This resulted from “a clear-cut reduction in sliding friction” and “the lowest mean frictional forces” compared to the old braces systems. Whereas traditional braces usually require a series of wires and tightening procedures, Fastbraces® Technology typically works with just one orthodontic wire from start to finish.
By using a special, square, super-elastic nickel-titanium wire which is activated by the heat of the mouth, the whole tooth is held upright using the natural temperature of the mouth. This is all done in one stage. Quickly. Safely. Easily. And affordably.
Before & After
Minimal Retainer Wear
After treatment, most patients will start out by wearing a dental retainer piece every night during a normal 8 hours sleep period (teeth pajamas). Later, per the doctors’ instructions, patients may only need to where them in the shower for 15-20 minutes a day (tooth shampoo). Finally, within a year, the patient my only need to wear their retainer for a few minutes every day.
