Dental anxiety is a very real emotion and affects a large percentage of people. The biggest problem with dental anxiety is that it often keeps you from getting the dental care you truly need. Our goal is to always make our patients feel comfortable while in our office and under our care. We not only treat every patient with care and kindness, but each patient also has the advantage of a dental team of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals who are here to support them and their dental health.
Be Honest With Us
If you suffer from dental anxiety and have a difficult time scheduling an appointment or visiting the office, be honest with us when you contact the office. Please know that you are not alone and that we have many patients with the same feelings you have. Our team will never judge how you feel. We only want to be aware of your feelings to ensure that we are doing all we can to make you comfortable.
Ways to Relax Before Your Visit
There are certain changes you can make to your daily routine that can help you feel more relaxed while in our office:
Limit Caffeine and Sugar
Caffeine and high levels of sugar can increase your heart rate. We recommend drinking water or a calming beverage such as chamomile tea.
Schedule Your Appointment Wisely
Avoid visiting our office after a long day of work or when you have a full day and need to rush to another appointment.
Listen to Relaxing Music
You are more than welcome to bring headphones and listen to your favorite relaxing music, a favorite podcast, or an audio book. It can help relax your mind.
If you are located in the Phoenix, AZ area and need to schedule an appointment for an examination or treatment but are feeling a little uneasy or nervous, please contact our office. Avoiding dental care can lead to additional and lengthy treatments, which is not ideal for a patient with anxiety. We can discuss a plan to ensure that you are relaxed and ready for your appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon!
